Agno Pangasinan: Third Wheel with Benefits
Third Wheel (noun) as defined by millennial is someone who tags in a group of 2 people usually couples, who plays a seemingly least relevant role in the planned and prepared activities. Third wheeling may probably be something most friends would not wish to be part of, for the common stigma of horrible awkwardness and unpleasant feeling it may possibly bring.
On the other hand, perhaps we
have once labeled ourselves a third wheel in someone's love story, or if not,
we may eventually find ourselves in an inevitable situation where we have to
play the role of a third wheel in the future.
Worry not my friends, for third
wheeling has a lot of perks to offer contrary to what other people may think
about it. First, being a third wheel strengthens your faith that true love
may exist. Maybe not now for you but for your friends. You may also realize
that you didn't actually lose your bestfriend but you became part of your
bestfriend's romantic story but of course as a third wheel, we must maintain a
proper etiquette so as not to ruin our friend's romantic moments.
Recently, I was EXCLUSIVELY
invited to third wheel in my friend's romantic getaway. Planning of the
activities and everything were meticulously done by my couple friends so all I
needed to do was to pack my things and the next thing I knew, I was in a secluded
white beach locally known as Abagatanen Beach in Agno, Pangasinan drinking beer
while grilling pork belly for samgyupsal. We were given a 4 day holiday at that
time so spending these free times at the beach was something we imagined as a
perfect escape from routinary and sometimes tiring tasks at work. Going to
Abagatanen Beach was unexpectedly difficult and challenging due to unforeseen
glut of passengers seeking for a temporary refuge against the hectic city life.
It was tiring but Abagatanen Beach took away those worries. It gave us
tranquility and provided us memorable experience. The glistening stars and the
placid sound of small waves gently hitting the shore created a sense of freedom
and calmness to my soul. The moon was radiantly shining reflecting its borrowed
light into the water. It was beautiful.
As for my couple friends, as I
have mentioned earlier, I maintained a proper etiquette by giving them their
much needed "us time". We went back home satisfied and a deeper
understanding of respect to your friend's choices has emanated in our hearts.
